Simulating "Follow The Frame" For a Backdrop

The project I'm working on recently experienced slowdown issues, so I decided to try and eliminate one of the layers in order to speed it up.

The Backmost Backdrop (the back layer I deleted) was simply a large picture that moved very little when the screen scrolled, so I thought it would be easiest to create a background image object and have it always stay at (0,0) of the current frame position.

It kind of works... But for some reason when the screen scrolls, the image shakes unpleasantly and is very distracting. All I want is a smooth following, like when an active has the "Follow the frame" box unchecked. How would I do that in this situation? (I also halfheartedly tried some "LastX, LastY" equations, but I couldn't get that to work smoothly either.)

For future reference, you can make a new layer (ctrl+k) and set the X and Y coefficients to 0.

Well, thanks, but the whole purpose of this was to delete a layer in order to reduce slowdown...
