use

apppath$ + "myfile.ini"

This will place it into the same directory as the file. Make sure you saved at least once your mfa file to a folder location so the file won't end up in a temp dir.

YASO extension can get the user application data path if you want to put it into this folder.

Also make sure Vista Settings in your application properties are not set to "None"
