    Pixel-by-pixel destruction

Is there any way to have environments which, if hit by, say, an explosion, would only destroy the pixels which were hit? Basically, something like the destructible environments found in "worms".

Andos always has amazing examples. And to do what you want, you should use the overlay extension and an array. I think this would be the only real way

You could create a white/black circle at the explosion point and paste it into the background.

What if there is a backdrop such as a sky or something behind the area of destruction? Although I'd rather use this since its much more simple

Well possibly if you place things on different layers it would work, but I don't have the specifics.
