OGG is the best format I've come across to have low sized, high powered, crystal clear music with higher quality then even MP3. Best part? MMF2 supports it natively.

The only problem with OGG is the low usage of it. Since most music you will find will be in either .mp3 or midi, you have to usually manually convert to OGG, and that can lead to further complications, as well as more work. While it would be nice to support .mp3 simply because it is so widely used, its not a free and open format

Converting to an OGG is easy... lol, and as far as I know, all computers support it because it doesn't use codecs? I'm not entirely sure, but all I know is I've never had any issues with it.

That's why more people need to know about programs like "Audacity" and it's 'free of charge' ability to convert to ogg on a single click. Most people just type in "wav to ogg" in google and end with some shareware crap and they sadly giving up shortly after that.

I use Audacity, it can convert from mp3 to wav to ogg to a few others as well. I don't like its lack of importation of .wma files though since my whole music library is in .wma format and then I have to use iTunes to convert it, but recently I deleted iTunes so I use some sort of freeware.

Goldwave here also. It's cheap (not free) but a rock solid product.
