Sub-app transparency

Would it be possible to change the sub-app with display as sprite in HWA to have transparent areas? I'd like to be able to overlay a sub-app over part of the frame, but for the sub-app to show through some areas as transparent. In my case this is acting as a HUD which happens to overlap another sub-app but you could put this to many more uses.

As it's displayed as a sprite I'm hoping this will be easy to do.

It's not too complicated to do, I think, but I've so many things to do right now, it won't be done soon probably.

I've already requested this, would be great for us! most importantly, alpha transparency would open so many possibilities!
