Switching to Linux... Or at least thinking of...

I'm thinking about switching to Linux. It's really tempting, but then I won't be able to run MMF2 Developer, and that would ruin everything. So the point of this topic is... Is there any way around that? I really give thanks for any help!

Load both OS on the same computer or use something like VMware to host both OS's on same system also.

Apparently Windows compatibility is getting better all the time on distributions like Ubuntu - I know a couple of people on this forum who just run MMF2 under Wine or some other tool without difficulty. If you're worried then you can always keep Windows as an alternative OS.

I think everything's already been said, except the idea of testing linux out on an external hard drive first.

I was not impressed after my first week of using Ubuntu.

Try Wubi - it installs Ubuntu so that you start it just like a dual boot system, but without touching the MBR. It's stored inside a file in Windows, and you can remove it from add/remove programs.

Running ubuntu along with windows works great. Ubuntu is very easy to use. As jamie said use wubi.exe to install it.
