    Re: Sound filtering?

I'll make an example of a custom visualization real quick, but for now have a look in your objects for these:

EDIT: OK here is an example of a custom visualization, it runs about 30-40 FPS on non-HWA, I'm sure on HWA it'd be faster. But it still lokks pretty cool! It reads from the right channel, but you can change that if you want.

    Re: Sound filtering?

Thanks for making a example but thats not what is needed really. You know that filtering and EQ are not sound visualization right? It's to modify the actual sound so what you hear, as far as i know/can see from the options Onu cannot do this and i have all of those extensions and have checked them.

What Filters and EQ do -

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_filter
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low-pass_filter
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-pass_filter
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Band-pass_filter
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parametric_equalization
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphic_equalizer

Put simply you are editing the frequencys of the audio, filtering some of them out to shape the sound.

    Re: Sound filtering?

but doesn't mmf2 already have a built-in frequency editor in the sample events?

There should be no reason to use onu for this then.

    Re: Sound filtering?

I think you can edit the whole sample or channels frequency but not in an advanced way. MMF is not that good for audio DSP stuff at the moment so no filters, eq or basic fx like chorus and reverb etc. You could probably make a workaround for something like a LFO and i made a simple fake osc example ages ago using looped samples but nothing that complex.

Right now it seems MMF is good at audio playback though rather than synthesis or sound modification which is why i was suprised when they said onu could do it but it seems they were thinking of visual displays instead. It's probably possible to make a vst loader or simple effects with the extension SDK though but none have been made yet as far as i know.

    Re: Sound filtering?

You should request an extension then, if this is what you want to do.

    Re: Sound filtering?

    So, just so I'm clear...
I'll request for something that uses runtime VST, right?

    Re: Sound filtering?

Yeah, that way it's realtime feedback on the audio. It would load the VST into a audio channel and allow the modification of it parameters (sliders etc). Ideally it would also allow for loading of a preset bank and a preset patch also and allow to bring up it's GUI panel for editing.
