    Quick question about Frame Rate

Well, is frame rate always supposed to be at 50 or 60? is it a problem if it drops to like 46 or goes over 60 to like 73? I'm afraid to use HWA so I want to stick to with the normal version...

You can change what it's supposed to be in the app properties. Also checking the option "Machine independant speed" will help alot too.
Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3

it depends on the type of game. Some games yo may want a superfast frame rate, some can go slower.
I would stick to 60 as most monitors have 60hz refresh rate

Re: Quick question about Frame Rate

    Thanks for the answers.

I had already checked the option you speak of. Right now I have a only two frames made, those being the title screen and the first area you start the game in. The title screen has two parallaxes of "fog" (one goes faster than the other) going that takes the whole screen. The resolution used to be 640 x 480 but due to issues of lack of space I switched to 800 x 600 and that's when the issues started. To get a reasonable speed I had to adjust the frame rate to 120 (with machine independent checked) and still sometimes it drops to the 36 on the title screen frame. The other frame, the first area of the game has clouds scrolling on a lower and higher layer than the player and an overlay on it as well but it does not scroll...the FPS drops to like 43 at the worst.

Now, a few things I should have mentioned is that my machine it's not that powerful, maybe that's a big issue. The game type is RPG btw.

Re: Quick question about Frame Rate

If you're using parallax with layers, you'll need to use HWA. Layers and parallax don't seem to work very well in the standard, non-HWA runtime.

    *sigh* Okay, thank you.

What are the issues with HWA? In what ways can it mess up my game?

Well I've been using it, and honestly, I haven't run into anything really. I had some strange issues with sub apps not displaying, but I think that is fixed by using the "display as sprite" option. Overall though, HWA is pretty stable right now. But, definitely make a backup of your game with standard before you start doing it in HWA.

Have you installed the Beta? Then there will be another executable.

I don't remember, but I know it used to be there... in the same folder as the standard maybe I'm mistaken. How do I get the beta?
