help with getting my camera scrolling to work

I have a camera object that moves up or down when the player is within a certain range of the camera. I want the screen to only scroll when the player is within that range (which is controlled by a flag turning ON) and not when the flag is OFF. The camera behaves correctly when the frame is not told to center on the camera. But once I center the frame to camera, the screen scrolling behavior doesn't match up to what the camera is doing.

Can someone take a look at the file and point me in a direction?

It works fine for me both ways. I really don't understand what your issue is.

The problem comes when you let the player fall and then boost the player (hold left mouse key) against the threshhold for scrolling up. The initial scrolling down seems to work if you never touch the controls. But once you try to go up and down a few times, you should see the screen jumping very fast. And the screen should NOT scroll if you are within +/-100 of the camera, and for me it does.

Are you not seeing this behavior?

Ahhh, you never said anything about moving it! Well now I see it, I think it has to do with the layers for some reason, but you are right, simply setting scrolling at all messes it up completely.

Did you try to turn on 'Follow the screen' for the camera object?
Seems to work better for me, but then I am not quite sure what the problem is.

@Popcorn: That was the problem. Thanks for pointing it out. Not sure why that fixes it actually, since I would think the camera needs to be independent of the frame. Can someone explain it to me. ^_^'
