    Selling a game... rights

    Hello,

as owner of MMF 2, can I sell online videogames using the materials (graphics and music) included in the package?

can i also create and sell Videoringtones using your musics?

in a few words, do I have full rights on the material of the 2nd cd?

    thank you

You can sell commercial products using the graphics and music included with MMF2

You can not sell or distribute the individual elements themselves. So taking a music file and distributing it outside a bigger work would seem to not be OK.

You can only sell the games if you own the Developer Version i think, the content is for use in games or projects you make using MMF2.

No, Standard version owner can sell applications but must give Clickteam Credit (add logo etc)

The same Bruto is for TGF2

And it's pretty easy. You can use CT elements in your game which can be sold, but you can't sold only CT elements, because they've got copyrights for them.

Ah ok sorry for the confusion, i never noticed it add a clickteam screen in though when i exported stuff from standard before i updated (just apps for me). I guess it's not forced but what if people don't wand to play fair would there ever be a way for people to know it was made in standard if they sold it?

    Re: Selling a game... rights

There is no Clickteam screen being forced on your commercial application with standard.
Instead you yourself are required to add a form of credit to Clickteam. This applies to the application as well as any eventual packaging.
It goes without saying that this works by an honor system, and as such you could cheat. But seeing as there is no forced screen or popup, the agreement gives you control of where and how you want to credit Clickteam, which isn't much to ask really.

For those who want to avoid having to credit Clickteam in their commercial application, there is the MMF2 Developer version. Besides giving you free hands in terms of crediting, you also get some extensions geared for commercial development like trial object.

If you or anyone else needs logos or ideas for this, you are welcome to ask in the forum and I'm sure we could help.

The logos are on the CD-ROM #1 and for the complete runtime agreement you can look in the help and search for Runtime Agreement.

    Re: Selling a game... rights

I don't need logos i own the developer version

I was just curious if there was a protection standard had if people were dishonest and wanted to cheat it. I have to say though developer version should have some more dev only stuff if this is the case, some of the extra objects are quite good but i guess the main thing is commercial use. I was originally thinking it would watermark the exe's made with standard saying it's MMF made maybe but i guess not.

Well it kinda does, in the application properties if you look in Explorer, which is only honest and sensible, but thankfully there's nothing in the content of the application to like a splash screen, the way TGF had.
