    scroll bug?

I wanted to test how my game runs on old computers so i compiled it then ran it on my mums laptop.

It is about 6 years old with windows XP service pack 2, and intergrated graphics card. My game uses directX 8, no shaders applied. I have machine independent speed checked and fps set to 100.

My game works great, very smooth and the same as on my modern computer, no loss of FPS rate, except 1 big bug, on hers the screen won't scroll. Instead it just shakes about.

My scroll code is really just alway centre screen on object, and the object moves around the map.

    Is this some known bug?

    Thanks.

I guess you must have us stumped but I don't think it can be anything too hard to fix.

I think the only differences we've seen between HWA behaviours on old and new machines stem from the old machines not being able to handle large objects because they're loaded as textures.

I dunno how that would affect it though.

I don't have large objects, theres probably about 1000 small objects, most background tiles.

Could this be a graphics card driver issue perhaps? I'm not sure what it is being intergrated, but i imagine they're up to date for it.

    Re: scroll bug?

I think this was caused by directX 8, on switching to directX 9 the problem seems sorted along with some other problems i was having.

Actually the problem goes away when i uncheck machine independant speed, is this option allowed to be checked under HWA?
