Quick Backdrop with externally stored image?

Is there any way to have a tiled backdrop that repeats as with the quick backdrop and store the image outside the .MFA file in order to reduce file size?

Err i dont think it would reduce file size really. MMF compresses all image data within in mfa.

Yeah but it does it losslessly and the large images started out as JPEGs anyway so they take up a lot more space compressed as bitmaps in MMF2 than they do outside.

    Anyhoo, thanks for the help.

Oh ok. Not sure that you can do that at runtime. Backdrops arn't really meant to have that much control.

Use the Background Images object (doesn't work with HWA):

    Start of frame:
    -Set pattern mode: On
-Load Image from file into slot x
    -Display Image from slot x

With this you can also load PNGs with alpha channel.

Re: Quick Backdrop with externally stored image?

    how i solve this problem:

i have active object. On frame start i load external image as frame to this active, and then in loop paste this image as background. I use this method for creating tiled background.

sorry for my english, i hope you understand me.
