    Re: MMF2 Portal Help

It's easy to make "teleporters", where when you touch one you are teleported to the other (and this is how most imitations of portal work). Actual portals, where you can be half-way between both and collisions work properly across the border, have only been done in portal. Turn on the dev commentary to hear about some of the crazy stuff they had to do to get it to work.

'teleporting' is as simple as taking an active object, and when it collides with something, moving its X,Y coordinates somewhere else. In the event editor look into 'position' and the coordinate stuff is there.

    Re: MMF2 Portal Help

Mecha's awesome, but they are still teleporters, not real portals. As evidenced by the flickering box going between two ground portals at the end of the trailer.

With a real portal, the box would be visible from both, and there would be no problem. It would just be sitting there wobbling a little.

yep thats true, however i think it would be very difficult to make something like that without an extension or pixel shader to help.
