Is nivram talking about the width/height?

As far as I know there is no size limit (in bytes).

    Sorry Nivram but your wrong.
I have had frames 64000 pixels in width before with no issues.

Oh. Must have had some more brain leakage from all the years on the forum. It would be good to have an official statement by CT on the maximum. The last I saw is what I stated. Does anyone have an official limit? I ask that you not just throw numbers out.

Some newer forum members depend on veteran members for help, and I can't afford anymore brain leakage. LOL

I believe if there is a limit, it must be pretty high, especially if bigredron's game had lots of actives and junk

Re: How biggest (in bytes) can be a frame???

Well thats for my isometric game which I tested a 1000x1000 grid sized map with each tile 64x32 in size. The way my engine works is by only drawing the background on the visible part of the screen.

Of course if there were tonnes of objects this would cause slowdown but I wasn't planning on using that for my game, it was just a test of what my engine could handle.
