    Lighter Extension

Does anyone knows what extension would be a good replacement for Active Object that would make my games to have a higher Frame Rate and work with Events?

    The most lighter please.

    Re: Lighter Extension

Because when I walk around the map the Frame Rate goes down to 60 (max when stopped is 100) and this is affect a lot on the game play... =/ I'm using Active Objects for the interface (Menus, Hotkeys, Buttons). I noticed that the extension "Active System Box" is lighter then Active Object and I was wondering if there's a lighter one.

For buttons, you could use the Active System Box or Button extensions. That may help you, unless you need something specific that the Active Object does.

So... Active System Box is the lighter extension in MMF2 that interacts with Event Editor? I don't need many Events, just some position calculations and collision detection.

    Re: Lighter Extension

    I did 2 tests...
I was moving around in a 5000x5000 frame with 768 Active Objects in the screen (Follow the Frame OFF, like a menu or something) and the same test but with 768 Active System Boxes.

With Active Objects the frame rate while moving was 95~100.
With Active System Box the frame rate while moving was 85~95 (sometimes it reached 100).

Looks like Active Object uses less video memory then Active System Box.

    Re: Lighter Extension

I think active system box uses windows controls so that might be why its slightly higher in usage. I am using an active system box currently for my menu background but thats only temorarily. I too would like to find out what the most efficient solution is, so if you figure it out let me know!
