Easy way to display a custom grid in a frame?

    Hi everyone,

I'm working on a level editor and I'd like the user to be able to designate grid sizes of any pixel width and height, and set a custom color for the grid lines... I'll also need to be able to zoom in on this grid as well..

Any suggestions as to my best bet for drawing the grid on screen? Screen drawing extension like overlay reduxe and a fast loop to draw the grid? Or am I missing a simpler solution?

    thanks

    :-/

I'd try something like having an active, and then looping/adding backdrops?

There was a grid extension which would allow you to do this. All you would need to do would be define the size of the grid each time you zoom. I will see if I can find it.

    Found it!

This is better than a widget IMO.

Thanks also Atom and RickyRombo, you're suggestions would have been very helpful if this newextension hadn't magically appeared from the sky.
