Startup App with Vista - How..?

    Hi,

I am using Vista Home Basic and I have created startup options on the menubar of my app ( [Add to Startup] and [Remove from Startup] ) so the user can decide to include it with the Windows start up routine or not.

I first tried the Power System Object. This did not work so I used the Registry2 Extension - Same thing - no startup item created in the registry.

In desperation I turned off UAC..! Then everything works.

Then I tried changing the Execution Level from 'Invoker' to 'Run as Administrator' and 'None - Virtualisation'. This allows you to write to the registry but on startup windows shows a 'blocked startup programs' error. So that doesnt help either.

    My Question...

Is there some way to get an app to startup with windows from a menu command in the app, and have UAC on at the same time..?

OR - Is there any other solution that I can try.

    Thanks...

You seem to be able to put shortcuts in the "Autostart" folder in the start menu without requiring administrator rights. You could try that method...

Got it sorted. Needed to use the YASO Object.
