    MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #8

    Hi everyone,

The 8th beta version of the build #249 is available :

    MMF2 Standard
    MMF2 Developer

This build is a BETA version, please make backup copies of your applications before loading them with this version!

Let us know if any problem with this build, thanks !

    Yves.

New features and bug fixes in this version

    - Event editor : when you edit the position of a created object, right click an object to make the relative position of the created object equal to the difference of position with this object (the relative position is set to 0,0 if you click with the left button).

    - Build as Java application : temporary files and directories were not deleted if an error occured while building applications and you click OK to view the error log. You should delete all the Imgxxx, Musxxx and Sndxxx sub-directories "forgotten" by previous beta versions of MMF2 in your Windows temp folder (on Vista: C:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\Temp, on XP : C:\Documents and Settings\User_Name\Local Settings\Temp).

    - Build as Java Applet : space characters in the JAR filename are now replaced by %20 in the HTML file.

    - Runtime : resetting the timer could sometime mess up animations of active objects if the "timer based movements" option was enabled.

    - CalRect object : fix in Java version.

    - Date & time object (Java version) : now handles 12/24 hours correctly, on PC and Mac.

    - MobileFont object : the Windows version of the object did not return the "priority" property.

    - MobileUtilities object : new object that contains a few functions useful for Java Mobile apps.

    - Java runtime : collision with background in boxed mode was not effective on the right most pixel.

    - Java runtime : vertically centered strings were not always displayed completely.

    - Java Mobile : power operator now much more precise. Drawback : handles floating point exponant as integer.

    - Java Mobile : centered and right aligned string objects are no longer shifted on the left by a few pixels.

    - Java Mobile : quick backdrop objects have a correct size (no longer bigger by one pixel on the right and bottom).

    - Java Mobile : incorrect mouse detection when the screen was rotated.

Thanks Yves! Just out of curiosity, why HWA build isn't updated as frequently? It's because it is more stable? Thanks

I still wasn't contacted about bugs which I found in previous beta... Nah. I will check if they still are here or not.

I still have a few issues to check before releasing a new update of MMF2 HWA (kind of issue you cannot reproduce easily...). Hopefully I can release it this week.

Our priority at the moment is to fix the issues that are specific to the build 249 or to the Java runtime, so that we can release the build 249 as official update.

    Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #8

Yves I've got 2 issues with 249 build from beta 7.

If I copy one object with transparency and paste it to another one transparent color changes to non transparent one.

In second case when I make a size of object bigger and I will have empty space in it - transparent colour - in level editor this transparent zone is visible as black and it should be transparent.

Also I think that it would be great to see what beta build we have got. At loading screen for example 249h or 249b8/249.8 ...

And I can give example and video of those errors but not for public cause it's compo entry.

Update: I forgot to mention that the NokiaKeys object of the previous build of MMF2 Developer has disappeared from this build, it's replaced by the new Mobile Utilities object. The Nokia Keys objects is not uninstalled, so you can continue using it, but I recommend you to replace it by the Mobile Utilities object and then remove it from your Extensions, Data\Runtime and Data\Runtime\Mobile folders.

So the Mobile Utilities is for all phones not only Nokia ones?

And about those graphic bugs I have to send it to you or Francois?

Ahh I forgot there is still bug with jumping toolbars and from what I see there is no information about correcting bug with the returning to animation 0.

I'm quite impressed by all the corrections that were made for the Java/JavaMobile runtimes. C'est du bon travail!
