Install Program Reliability

How reliable is the inbuilt MMF2 Install Program builder vs the downloadable Install Creator?

I've heard reports that using the Install Program function is unreliable, and if so is it an operating system specific problem? Does it not install properly on some OS? Is the Install Creator any better?

Or is it just that people don't like the inconvenience of icons and folders automatically added to their OS?

I understand when sharing examples it's inconvenient, but I'm considering using it for completed commercial & freeware software.

Well no reports have been sent in to me about the built in install builder in MMF.

If anyone does encounter a problem it would be cool if they told us

Yves also noted he fixed a crash due to external files with the built-in install creator in MMF in build 249 so use that for your testing.

So in MMF dev does this mean it has install creator built in then?

It's a limited version of Install Creator, adapted to MMF2 apps. You cannot modify the interface, you cannot select a source directory, you cannot select the icon of the installer, etc. otherwise it's like Install Creator.
