It's a shame because MMF has the power to make great apps/games but it can also be used for malicious purposes just as easily. The only thing that CT can do is make a note of bad SN and barr it.

Look guys, the answer to this is just to demand a refund on your questionable antiviruses.
I've never had a problem with MMF in conjunction with a decent antivirus.
Just vote with your feet and get something written in Eastern Europe, where most good AVs come from, like NOD32 or Antivir. Symantec and those clowns will learn once their revenue decreases.
Your computer will probably speed up a lot as well.
I've never had a problem with AVG or Malwarebytes, and considering those are updated more often than Symantec, and are FREE, I highly recommend switching over.
I just started a new website for a piece of software I'm developing. Slowly people are beginning to download what I made. Great, right? But just now I got an e-mail from one of my users... My software appears to be a virus now!
Apparently there's nothing I can do about it, but I just thought I'd let you know...

It's not that simple. The problem is not as simple as the people on this forum getting a better AV. The problem is the people on this forum having to deal with people that download their software. If you're an unknown software developer then it can spread quickly that your software contains malicious coding.Originally Posted by Crash86
Having done computer repair for over ten years people, unfortunately, are very naive when it comes to security. I'm not talking negative about these people but it's just a fact. Your average computer user believe what their security software tells them and they feel that they don't have a reason to question the companies that make the security software.
What I were do if I were developing software with MMF is I would put a warning on my website about the false positives. While some wouldn't want to do that because of fear of scaring people off, I feel it's better to warn them up front. In addition I would contact the AV companies directly. Not my email but by certified mail through their registered agent. That way you don't have to worry about some yahoo idiot customer service person that doesn't know what they're talking about. Go to the source of the company. Make the letter professional telling them of the issue with their software. Give it time and if it still persists follow up with another letter except maybe warning a possible legal action against them.
Even if you don't have a red cent to your name you still do have legal rights. Until people stand up to these security companies that keeps developing inaccurate bloatware they will not do a thing about it.

Do you use the build 249 of MMF2? I've quickly made a stand-alone app with MMF2 Developer and Virus Total didn't report any warning about it.Originally Posted by AWK
PS: when one of your users reports this, ask them what anti-virus program they use and if it's up to date.

I had one today (in an application that used MooSock - at least, I assume that was the cause) from a user of ZoneAlarm. I told him to report it as a false positive, so hopefully it'll be removed from the list soon.
VirusTotal is not a very big antivirus from what i have seen. Try other forms. I use antiVir and have had no problems, except from my portable where it detects some files as Trojans (even i have run them in contained environments and the program did nothing but its intended purpose) and wont remember to ignore when i tell it to ignore directories or files. But it is free and has kept me secure.

VirsuTotal is an accumulative online scanner. It is powered by all of the most popular antivirus programs.Originally Posted by GameDevs
Someone from Clickteam needs to contact DrWeb and TheHacker to explain that the MMF2 runtime is just that, and that they have unfortunate false positives.
NOD32 is the best AV by the way.![]()
