New Book on MMF2 Application Development

Book Title: MMF2 DIY Application Creation

    ISBN 1450572960

Desc: Multimedia Fusion 2 (MMF2) is the latest generation of the Click series program creation platform. The goal of this book is to provide starters with rich technical information so the best decision and judgment can be exercised when creating Windows programs through MMF2.
The focus of this book is on application creation using the relevant extension objects. Creating a Win32 desktop application is somewhat different from creating a game.

Hmm $17.95 for book and $12.83 for shipping :/ It's not good. Also I wonder why book about networking will be based on unsupported MOO?

Moo still exists at the current time, so some beginners might want to read the pros/cons about using it.

$12.83 for shipping a book from the USA to Europe is not bad at all. What would be cool is if hobbypress offered a PDF version but this would be something out of Clickteam's control.

Lacewing is still beta? It's not normally a good idea to write books about beta things.

Because it's unsupported, Moo won't change, which helps.

You know what's keeping me from buying the book?
The cover. It is horrible and unprofessional. I haven't read the book, but it looks like it was made by an amateur.

I can't buy a book like this for my employees. Please put in more efforts in your book, as it is very interesting!

I would be interested in buying it and I know that price 13 USD is not so bad for shipping but still it almost doubles costs of Book :/ No matter for the cover, but PDF version would be awesome.

And about MOO, yea I know Lacewing is still in beta and MOO is still present, but still it's ehm a bit strange for me but still fully understandable.

I like the question style to it, I think that'll work well.

Be interested to hear reviews from those who have read it!

Re: New Book on MMF2 Application Development

Recently got the book in the mail and read it in around 30 minutes or less. The author is obviously very well versed in the use of MMF and brings up a number of interesting topics. The most thorougly coverd topic is on the platform movement object. The major downside of the book is that it is just too short. There is not enough material here to justify the cost. The pages are filled with pictures of MMF screens, which are helpful, but the text is very large. And often the topics are not coverd fully enough to be really useful. The book ends with a page noting that the Trial object exits but merely states that one can make it work easilly. I have used the object a number of times and it takes a number of events to make it work properly, which would have been nice to have had added to the book. Of course, that's just my opinion. It would interesting to hear what others who have bought the book think.
