Ya know. I was thinking.... Wouldn't it be funny if they actually released the Flash rutime ON April 1, 2010? It would be exactly 1 year after they had announced it as a work in progress back in 2009.

Yes, they can pre-empively announce the release date as April 1st, and if they don't make the deadline retract it as an April Fools joke.

Theres not much news to add, sometimes little bugs take a little while to get sorted etc etc. The reason we try not to say "A is in development" or "The release date for B" is that one small issue or other things like other business tasks, education shows or other things can easily eat away at the timescales and then people are disappointed when said products are not released on time etc.

Hopefully you will agree with us when you see it and see the wait was worthwhile

Thanks for the info everyone and a good chuckle about April Fools.

What I think would be nice is for Clickteam to publish a short monthly update. For example, it was nice to hear that a beta test was in progress or that a numher of extensions were being ported to Flash. That would give users who are waiting expectantly a sense of progress and help ease our sometimes overeager anticipation.

We have had this discussion previously (within CT), unfortunately when programming it can seem like nothing happens for months on end (when trying to fix a particular bug or add a feature) and so a monthly report is not really practical in most cases as there will be nothing to say.

Sometimes things can be so close that you dont want to release bits of information because you just want to mention the big event, then lots of things can happen and before you know it a couple of months has passed

I think we are looking at the newletter system again.
