Creating Extensions, what do i need?

Hello, i am just starting to think about coding an extension i need, i am just wondering, what are all the types of applications i need to make an extension?

    What do i code with?
    What do i compile with?
    Anything i need to know?

I do know basic html and php and i know my way around other languages on the computer so i thought i would give it a try.

    Thank You

Re: Creating Extensions, what do i need?

Once everything is downloaded and installed what do i do?
Is there any instructions in adding the SDK or do i edit the SDK itself?

    Sorry to be bothersome.

If you use rSDK (which I recommend you do), then you extract the whole thing somewhere (the Visual Studio "Project" folder makes sense), copy the "Template" folder and then edit the copy.
