    Re: External Documents

Under Special in the event editor there is a "run external program". Just give the proper path.

    Re: External Documents

You can also use the "Open URL" action of the Vitalize object to open up a given file using the user's default program.

David, your idea is probably better. Forgot that one.

    Re: External Documents

I'm having an issue with running external program. It won't work!

I have a line that is supposed to run another EXE at the start of frame, yet nothing happens. Even if I build the .mfa

Same problem with the File object. Won't run. What do I do?

    Re: External Documents

Are you doing it with the built-in action? NOT the file object or Vitalize object?

    Re: External Documents

Well, I don't know. I tried every single way and nothing worked.

I decided to just re make a new TEST application on my desktop that did nothing but launch MS Paint when pressing a button. It worked.

And as soon as that worked, my completely unrelated game application's EXE launching also worked...

Must have been a windows glitch?

    Re: External Documents

Um, the action ONLY works on exe files! To open other files use the Vitalize object.

    Re: External Documents

I was using only EXE files. Paint.exe and Game Engine.exe.
