    Indexing files/folders, possible, how?

    Hello,

I'm new to MMF2 scene, but i started creating games with KnP a loooooonnng time ago when i was young.
Now i have more time for myself, and seeing what it is possible to do with MMF2, i resurrected my good old KnP game idea.

But the problem is my game idea is somewhat special ... read, i need to find a way to index all the files/folders in the computer. I don't need to read the files/folders, i just need to index all the files/folder and save it to a TXT, SQL ... whatever (This part is not the problem) to use it for my game.

I searched the forum, looked at some extensions, but i'm still stuck at the same point, i don't know if it is possible, and if possible, how it could be made ...

    Thanks in advance~

This isn't going to be *another* game where the world/enemies/whatever is generated from the files on the player's computer, is it?

    Anyway, indexed how exactly?
Why don't you do a little mockup of how it might look, and maybe we might be able to help.

btw: The tree view extension is a good place to start...

Gah, I just know somone made a perfect example of what you want, but I can't find it! It was a file searcher that used the list object to load filelists and thus 'search' with wildcards. I'm sure you can figure it out with the list object somehow...

Sphax File-Folder object can do this using the Browsing loop actions.
