[Request] Toggle mouse dragging mode in editors

Is the editor dragged scrolled even if it doesn't keep pushing the space key?

    Idea:
    - Press Space key or top menu command => Shifts to the druging scroll mode.
    - It is possible to scroll by dragging the screen even if the space key is not pushed.
    - Press Space key or top menu command again => Return to the normal mode.

I prefer it the way it is now - that's how it works in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and other professional applications too, even IG Maker works like that and it feels very natural. (There are exceptions of course - I think SketchUp doesn't behave like this by default but it can be set in preferences.)

If only the bug with flashing the open groups were fixed... and smooth scrolling introduced in the Event Editor instead of the current grid-based

I'm all for smooth scrolling, but what do you mean "flashing"?

In the Event Editor, try to drag the spreadsheet (hold down space, press & hold LMB, drag). The selected line will start flashing (at least it does on both my XP SP3 computers). Started behaving like this a few builds ago (a year or so).

This is especially bothering with open groups, since selecting the group's title is the default selection when a group is just opened in the EE, which means the whole group of events will start disco-blinking as soon as you press space.

Oh, I see what you mean. I almost always never use space to drag my event editor, I just use the scroll bars. Well, it seems that they should be doing an On Space Pressed and NOT held for toggling wheather to have stuff selected. EG you know the standard key for pushing a button in Windows is the Space key, so they maybe tried to do something similar but forgot about the dragging thing. I'm sure it can be easily fixed.

Hm... In short, I want to do the dragging scroll without pushing the space key.

Well I agree with RayMarble on this one, holding the space key while dragging feels natural. I don't want to press it to toggle, because that'd confuse me. It feels more natural to hold it down and move the mouse to drag, then let go to move the mouse the other way, then hold down space again to drag more.
