    Push an object

    Hi all,
First an apology, sorry if this is a really obvious question...I'm trying to get my player character to push an object -eg a rock or block. I can get it to move by setting the object's movement to the x and y value of the player object, but the movement isn't brilliant, and I'm sure there's got to be a more effective, and better looking way. Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Bazza

Well there's different ways to do it, some better, some worse, based on the kind of movement that your players has. Could you tell us about the movement?

Phyzix Box 2D could be a good choice, depending on how you're pushing your object.

I've got my player set to eight directions. I'm a Primary School Teacher, I want to make a game where the children have to collect letters by moving rocks, blocks in order to get at them -sort of puzzle/logic. Once they've collected them, they'll input the correct spelling of a word ( I'm thinking of a quiz page, maybe?). I'm really new to MMF and so I'm still learning the basics. Hope these questions don't sound to obvious -thanks.

Having a few problems opening the Phyzix Box, can't seem to open it.

Could you give more details? Extensions aren't meant to be 'opened', they are to be installed into the MMF2 directory; eg the files in the Extensions folder go in the MMF2\Extensions folder.

On downloading I saved the zip file to the extensions folder, having just read your post, I have copied all files out of this and into the extensions folder. There are a couple of icons in extensions, `Basic' and `Testbed'. When I click either I get a message saying `This application requires the following extensio Phizix Box2D(B2D.mfx)...install these extensions...' I thought I had.

    Re: Push an object

The zip file contains two folders, extensions and data\runtime, which match those same folders inside you MMF folder. If you extract them into your MMF folder, you should be asked if you want to merge them with the folders that are already there.

Alternatively, you can extract the files from these folders into the matching folders in your MMF folder yourself.

EDIT: the two files you're talking about are examples on how to use the extensions, not the extensions themselves
