    fonts

    does anyone know how to include a font in the application?... i dont want a string to display in "arial" just because the user`s cpu doesnt have the font i`m using... if you dont know the answer, i thank you anyway for reading this.

    This was asked a looong time ago, but never really got much attention. I'm sure it can be done now, though, with the .net object more stable.

    I thought the best way to always ensure the user sees the font you want was to turn it into a bitmap font. The downside is it's not scalable. The upside is it can have multiple colours etc as they are effectivly little images for each letter.

    Bitmap fonts are used in games a great deal.

    If that's what you're after, then you will want to use the 'Text Blitter' extension.

    Or just right click on the string object after you're happy with the font and the content, and create active...

    But how are we to do things with changing strings based on a value/FPS/ect??

    Just use a counter and change the graphics by adding the text via the image editor.

    Use a font that is common to PC and Mac for user names.
