a way yet for the app to load images form the web?

Hi all,

Is there a way yet for me to make an app that will load the images it needs (especially for actives would be awesome) from a specified URL?

For a background image I've used a FLV with a single image in it, then loaded that from a URL. It's not ideal, but it works very well, and doesn't cause any slowdown.

If you use the ActiveX object and use the Shockwave Flash control you can load an image as the movie URL, but that's only going to work with the regular executable runtime.

I can't imagine any way to do that with Flash.

Hopefully the active picture that can load images from a server is ready for the next Flash update. Its expected we will see a flash update in May.
