Can the "pinball movement" be used with collision

    Me again...

I installed one of the extensions, and see that there are many new Active object movement types. Among them is "pinball movement," which might be perfect for me since I am designing a pinball game.

However, when I use the "pinball" movement, it seems that collisions no longer work; the object just moves like a pinball regardless of what other objects are already set for collision with it.

Is there a way to use the "pinball" movement with collision?

And if not, are there any other extensions that I might be able to use to help better simulate the physics of a pinball in a pinball game?

    Thank you again!

Pinball movement should collide with your objects just as any other movement would.

Are you sure you put your pinball on the same layer as the objects you test for collisions width?

The pinball-movement object is on the same frame. How can I set it on the same layer as all the other objects it would collide? You are not referring to arranging the order in which they display (such that one displays above another)?

I see the issue. Go to the properties of your collisions and set each backdrop you want it to collide with and set it to obstacle. Then in the properties editor, set it to (if ball touching backdrop), movement-bounce

    That should fix it.

Re: Can the "pinball movement" be used with collision

I have created four backdrops to surround the entire frame. I have set each to type "collision" (and have tried using the "Collision with box" option).

Then, for the event properties of the pinball object, I have set "if pinball collides with a backdrop, then stop" (just to see if it works).

Unfortunately, the pinball just goes right off the frame.

How about changing direction of the ball when it "overlaps" backdrop?

If you can upload what you have into the file archive it would most likely speed along with us seeing whats going wrong.

It should work fine, but seeing what you are doing would help.
