How can I edit sprites that I pull from the internet?

With a paint program. You can use Gimp, PSP, Photoshopor even windows paint.

If you want to break sprite sheets apart, then you can use a sprite sheet importer, or you can import the image onto a backdrop object, and then cut and paste each sprite you want (or sprite frame) and then paste it in paint, then crop the window size to the bounds of the sprite, and then select all, and then save it as a separate image and import it into mmf2. It is a lot of work but can pay off. With frames of a sprite, make sure each frame has same dimensions and the image is centered, or in mmf2 it will be choppy.

Just make sure the hotspot is aligned. It doesn't matter what the dimensions are.

oh ok ya the hotspot, i just made it centered, but the hotspot works too.
