Silly question about the Spellchecker object

    Hey, folks!

I have a really silly, dumb question about the Spellchecker object--specifically, how do I use it?

I placed a Spellchecker object on my frame, then set up a button that when that button is clicked it would activate a group of events.

In this group of events, the Spellchecker object would "get text" from a specific Edit box I want spell checked. I used the Auto-Parse function. On "an incorrect word," the Spellchecker object would "list suggestions." Then, "upon correction," "parsing would resume."

Unfortunately, when I test this, nothing happens when the button is clicked--especially since I know I have a misspelled word in the Edit box in question.

What might I be doing wrong?

Thank you for your help, in advance!

There are some examples in your example folder. They may help.

Re: Silly question about the Spellchecker object

I was looking at the files in the "Examples" folder. I wasn't sure what to do with them. I could tell that two of them were wordlist "dictionaries" which the Spellcheck Object would load prior to spellchecking. But I also saw two "CCA" files, and didn't know how I was to access them. How do I load them into MMF2/the Spellchecker object?

    Thanks for your help, nivram!

Re: Silly question about the Spellchecker object

Actually, there is one extension in one of the Spellchecker examples in which I can't find (that it requires to load). This is referenced as "ScrollBar.mfx". I already have the extension "EasyScrollbar" (version 2.1) installed, but this doesn't seem to be the same extension used in the Spellchecker example.

Does anyone know where I can find the "ScrollBar.mfx" extension? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

    Thank you!

You'll need to load a csv file, that will act as a dictionary. Download the dictionary you want here: http://www.karamasoft.com/ultimatespell/dictionary.aspx

And then load it into the spell checker. Then you can check if words are correct or not.
