    MFA "corrupted"

Besides a couple of bad objects, I've never had big troubles with MMF2 before, but now suddenly when creating a flash game, something really weird started happening. I consider myself somewhat experienced user of MMF2, so I'm not just imagining things.

So basically when building my game, fixing one small thing, building again, fixing, building, fixing,...etc...for quite a while...suddenly I noticed that my swf doesn't run anymore and the file size is 2/3 of that what is used to be even though I hadn't removed anything.

I went back to check mfa, and noticed that many backdrop objects had been automatically deleted from multiple frames. Yikes. Luckily I had a 001 back up file, opened it up, did the same things than before, and...bang. There we go again. Then I re-opened the file, tried to add the events and conditions one by one and checked when the backdrops disappear. Every time I added something new without destroying the backdrops, I saved as a new file. Then it happened again after one additional condition, and I thought I have isolated the bug and what's causing it. Well, tried again from previously saved file, and it did not happen that time.

Obviously something else disappeared as well than just the backdrop objects, because the swf didn't run normally after this issue but just displayed a white screen.

I'm still trying to track what was lost during that corruption. I have been able to save a "normal" mfa out of the backups and build it, though the swf is still smaller in file size than before the problem occured in the first place.

I have all mfa's if Clickteam likes to take a closer look.

    Very weird indeed.

I'm thinking this perhaps could be a memory problem?
Have you tried restarting the computer, and seeing if you can then recreate the problem then?
What is the kind of computer you are using?
Also how big is your mfa?

If I understand you correct, this isn't happening when you export to the Flash Runtime alone, but rather just happening randomly as you use MMF?

    Re: MFA "corrupted"

I haven't had memory issues before and my system is decently up to date, so I doubt that's causing it. But of course it is a possibility. Haven't tried restarting the system, only MMF2. The mfa was 12 Mb before the issue...now it's like 8Mb or so.

"rather just happening randomly as you use MMF?"

So it seems. When I was testing to recreate my game from an older back up mfa by adding one condition/action/etc at a time, the backdrops disappeared when I had added just one condition in event editor. Didn't even save the mfa, they just got deleted automatically when I added the condition. Really weird stuff.
