    Sound: Auto Equilization?

Hey, you know how some games have an equilizer option for thier music that makes it so the music is never too quiet ot too loud, but still vary volum a bit? Well this can easily be heard by listening to the music directly and then listening in the game and you will here the wonderful difference. I wonder what is the beast way to go about this with Onu?

    Something like:
    -Detect lowest and highest sounds
-Raise lowest and lower highest so there is zome completely quite zone
    -Adjust volume to appropriate range
-Adjust music volume realtime to keep within range but allow for silent spots as mentioned above

Is this feasible or would it require another extension/changes to Onu?

Really appriciate this because some music in my game is too quiet then the next music is loud, and sometimes it is both.

    Thanks,
    -LB

    Re: Sound: Auto Equilization?

If you're talking about some samples being too loud or too low compared to other samples, you can set the volume of certain channels and then play each music sample on different channels based on what volume it should be played at. For example, if a sample sounds relatively too loud, play it on a channel (say channel #1) and 'at start of frame' set the volume of that channel to a volume < 100 (50 would make it play at half volume).

If you're talking about some parts of a sample being too loud and other parts too low then I don't think MMF2 can help you with that. I would say thats an issue with the sample itself. Maybe you could take it into an editing program to tweak it to your satisfaction. (I recommend ACID Xpress7 -- its FREE).

Well I was hoping to do this realtime. Really it shouldn't be too hard but there just isn't an extension to do it.
