MJK, which game got $170 is one day? And was this solely through mochi, or what? I'd like to know which site got you that much in one day!

Also, as I've seen, mochi doesn't distribute to hundreds of sites, I've gotten like 30 tops, but maybe they all haven't approved? It grows after a little.

It appears to be based on luck. The GameBuilder community hated my game, ColorClear, but it got featured on a Polish site, and became my most successful, so it's all about the audience. Apparently klikers want more puzzling/active games, Polish people want mindless clicking games xD

Yeah, that was just a really simple mini-game put together in 3 hours. The site is in Mochi Distribution.

Actually, there are thousands of sites in the Mochi Distribution (at least they claim so). Of course the sites themselves then decice which games to pick up for their site specifically from all the available distributed games. So if you have 30 hosts, you may have something like 1% conversion. Which might not be bad at all. But anyway, if you use Mochi Distribution, you have a chance to get your game to even hundreds of sites with minimal effort in distribution from your end. Your game just needs to stand out really well.

I've always said that developer feedback is useful, but it doesn't really matter that much. The average casual player who plays these kind of small time-killer games, what flash games usually are, differs quite a lot from clickers (or game developers in general) in terms of how they perceive the games, what do they like about, what is the optimal difficulty level, etc. Even if you get bad comments from developers, the game might be very successful among its real target audience.

It's good to know that you might just get great publicity with Mochi Distribution for even the simplest games! Pretty inspiring

Yes, the click community probably has high demands as they know how simple games are and strive to make complicated games, but sometimes your target audience is people who don't feel like putting much effort into playing a game and just want to waste a little time.
Mess around with it, it's not like there's a set of rules on what different audiences like, you have to figure out a good medium for yourself, or just aim for a specific audience.

EDIT: Oh also, if you have multiple games, I'd make some sort of splash screen for your games or webpage or something, because if you're the one who is going to get 170 bucks in a day, thats a ton of views, and you might as well get more views

Re: A few EASY questions. Please & Thank You

Great thread here with good info. I think I've just scratched the surface for my games as I am nowhere near $170/day. I've tried a few game sites and the target audience for your games is key factor I think. It's hard to make a game that everyone will like or appreciate.
