    Help with boincing balls

    I have been trying for hours with various formulas and such but I just can't get this to work. I want the ball to bounce realistically with gravity. I can detect the angles all fine, it's just bouncing it that is causing the trouble. No matter what I do I can't get it to convert the new angle to X and Y speed and then so something to keep the original speed, conservation of momentum or whatever. I will handle friction later. Right now I want to get bouncing to work correctly.

    Just run it and immediately draw a line of any angle under the ball. Either it slowely falls through or it pauses and then shoots the the right (Take the Never condition off of event 14 and you will see it somehow happens during a fastloop, even though I have it set to STOP the fastloops!)

    Could somone tell me what is being done wrong and how to get this bouncing correctly? All I am doing is floating-point fastloop movement along with fastlooping along the diameter of the ball to find any obstacles, from there I can get the Normal Angle and try and calculate the the bounce angle and, from that, get the new X Velocity and Y Velocity.

    OK, I solved the above issue but I am still having problems.

    Most of the time the ball doesn't bounce correctly;
    -I haven't added friction yet but if it bounces straight up and down it still slows down after a few bounces
    -The ball sometimes does a double-bounce and I am not sure how to fix this, I thnk it is related to the above issue.

    That is what I am trying to fix.

    I'd appriciate at least some ideas for why this happens and ways to possibly fix it.
