Sorry, for double posting but I solved my framerate problem. The more sounds to a channel you have the slower the game goes on Flash so I just reduced the number I was originally using and now the game runs fine.

Interesting. May I ask from/to which amount of channels you went down? I'm using about 10 channels, but I couldn't really tell if using all of these - or not made any difference.

Well the problems wasn't really number of channels. I just had multiple sounds to a channel that were needing to be played at the same time and this created the slow down.

Just curious, why do you assign the sounds manually to a channel? MMF's automated assignment system seems pretty good to me, where's the advantage?

I lock channels and play specific samples on these when I need particular volume and pan settings. For other samples I let MMF do its job.
