General flash questions

Hey, thinking about buying this flash thing. Some quick questions first though.

- If I want some commercial properties for my flash game, do I need a different license than the $70 version? And I can implement ads to my flash game?
- What are the supported extensions?
- Is this considered a "stable" release- or something more of a beta?
- Do I have to pay in Euro if I live in Europe?

If I want some commercial properties for my flash game, do I need a different license than the $70 version?

That's the only liscnse there is. What do you mean commercial? It's Flash, there aren't very many successful sales for an SWF file that can simply be opened in a browser.

And I can implement ads to my flash game?

Yes. Currently there is only support for Mochiads, and there are some Mochi objects as well like Moch Coincs and Mochi Highscores, ect. You can play ads while your game loads if you distribute your game with mochi too, and play the ads after every few plays or between levels, ect.

There is an extension for Flash called Flash Haxx by Jamie that, when he completes the extension, you might be able to use other ad services.

What are the supported extensions?

There is a list in one of the news posts, and also in your application when you set it to flash build and go to insert a new object, only supported ones will show in the list.

Sorry you misssed the beta, this is the second stable release (Update #1)

I as well as a few other frequent users answered questions there that probably cover your questions on Flash, Mochi, etc. and if it's worth it or not.

We really need an FAQ in this forum
EDIT: as long as I'm suggesting an FAQ thread stickied, perhaps we should also put in that, some "success stories" from users who did well with either mochi or sponsorship. I feel like it'd be inspiring to either old users or users interested in Flash, as it gives good suggestions to others on what to do.

My thoughts: the flash exporter is more than worth the money you pay for it. Get it.
