    MMF2Dev + Facebook (Non Flash)

I am wanting too add a small chat on my desktop with custom features such as text size and other features, is this possible without the flash plugin running from an application?

Any ideas on where i can get started with something like this and where i can find any documentation or examples.

I have a webserver so i can run php files if needed and send/recieve data directly from my site using php pages.

Even getting my app too connect too the facebook login system would help a lot as i can learn from there.

    Many Thanks in advace.

    Here is a tutorial: http://www.clickteam.com/Facebook_CT_.zip

I have tried following it but I struggled as I am not that PHPey, I am going to have another when I get the time. Let me know how you get on with it, it's not mine.

You could use the Rich Edit for your chat, and make a popup box for setting the different text sizes using the dialog box, numerical updown control, and maybe the color selector.

    Lacewing for the chat

You can use the Get object to retrieve data from your PHP pages.

A few issues. The chat would not load on the chat as it is not yet supported in Java. So it would only be for Windows only.

It's supported in Flash, though, if you ever decide to get that.

Re: MMF2Dev + Facebook (Non Flash)

Appologies for my late reply i have been very busy with a move and getting a new isp and a baby on the way, thanks for the help so far but i am still not able to make this application without a little help.

I am not using Flash or Java for my application and at the moment i cannot afford it as i have a son on the way in the next week or two, its just a simple exe that can load my online friends list, and each open contact will have there own little chat box all set nice and neat in tabs just above my start bar so i can talk to my facebook friends from my windows 7 desktop, i have checked out the http://www.clickteam.com/Facebook_CT_.zip example but it contains the flash object so i cannot open it, is there any copies off this example that work without the flash object or is anyone able to remove the flash object and mabie emulate its functions if possible? it would be much appreciated.
