Sound Bug (Flash & No Flash)

I am getting totally messed up sounds with a bunch of audio files that I'm trying. There are two types of problems I'm getting:

    1. Without Flash, the sound gets messed up at the end when running in MMF2. I have attached the original wave file so you can compare both.

    2. In Flash it sounds just like noise, the whole thing.

So, is this a bug or are there some restrictions we need to know about the sound formats that can be played (in general and in Flash)? If so what are they?

The sound has an odd format, MMF2 says it's a 24 bit sound (first time I see one, usually sounds have 8 or 16 bits per sample, not 24). Can you convert it to 16 bit format?

I didn't create this format, it's my sound engineer that provided me with audio files of this format.

I will ask for a down-sampled version and see if that's the issue.

Do you think it's the 24 bits that's causing the problem?

I just saved it as 16-bit PCM WAV in Audacity, and it works fine in both MMF and Flash.

Alright, thanks Looki. That should be a valid work around.

For MMF though, I think the reason for the inability to play 24-bit files should be looked into when time is available.

Re: Sound Bug (Flash & No Flash)

I was doing more testing with sounds and ran into another strange audio bug. I built a JAR file with an audio track and it plays fine on Windows but not on Mac. This one is a 16-bit audio file, so it shouldn't be related to the previous bug.

    Check it out here.
