layer tutorial ?

Hello ,
first thanks clickteam ( and tutorial authors ) for releasing a new batch of tutorials !

I was wondering if there's tutorial out there that shows the benefits of layers in an app and how to implement them.
I guess I got stuck with the "spirit of mm5 1.5 ) because I've never used layers so far...

I'm mostly interested in the educational field , so I thought layers could help in activities involving conditional display of information, for instance ( as in a right / wrong activity ; or fill in the gap ...

I don't know if there are any tutorials on that, but at least my Scrolling tutorial teaches how to use layers to make parallax scrolling. It might be a start.

Layers are really simple, actually. For your use you probably want to make a layer with scrolling speed (x and y coefficient) set to 0 and invisible at start.

To control the layer at runtime, place a Layer object in the frame editor, and you have got some conditions and actions in the event editor.
