    Embedding a SWF

Embedding a SWF for the purposes of including sponsors' adverts was discussed over a month ago before I went on my hols.

I was wondering if there had been any progress before I get back to looking at how to achieve this.

If I can do it, it will be solved over the next couple of weeks, but I don't want to spend any time on it if I'll be reinventing the wheel.

    Re: Embedding a SWF

I was just about to ask a similar question when I stumbled upon this topic. what are the odds?

I have no experience whatsoever with sponsorships, but I'd like to give it a go with my second game that's nearly done. Maybe people who are more experienced in this can help me out.
When (or in my case 'if') one gets a sponsorship, how is it handled?
I've been reading some topics here where there's talk of either a swf or a flv you need to implement in your flash file, but it seems a real hassle with converting and rebuilding and such.

If an embed solution, like Digitalic mentions, is possible, does anyone know if someone is working on this? Or is it just a rumour? Just like to know if I should keep my hopes up or down

I read some posts on FlashHaxx being the holy grail in this, but seeing my knowledge on the more technical side of mmf2 is less then basic, I'm at loss here. (I did choose mmf2 over Flash for a reason )

If no embedding is possible at all, does anyone know if sponsors let you use a .swf or something that's hosted on their own site, 'cause then the things I read about in the topic 'Flash External Files' could be used to call their .swf (once again, I don't know how these things go, so this is just a wild guess)

Seeing how Mochi isn't really bringing the honey home, I'd really appreciate it if something could be done about this sponsorship-issue.

I'm pretty sure you'd at least need developer to make your own swf preloader in order to use the extensions in the preloader. And... I'm not sure you could...

    That's gently put...but you're absolutely right.
Like I said, I have no experience in doing these sort of things.
If someone knows a way to do it or can point me in the direction of a good tut on a workaround, I'd really appreciate it.

    Re: Embedding a SWF

The way I am looking at doing it is to embed the SWFs in Actionscript 3 code and compile it with FlashDevelop.

I have already figured out how to embed a SWF created with MMF2 (as opposed to loading an external SWF), and the code to do that is only a few lines long.

The next step is to figure out how to embed two SWFs and to get the second one to run automatically when the first has finished.

Of course there will be more to it than that, but that is the essence.

I'm no Actionscript guru, but I have solved the first part of the problem, and I fancy having a go at completing the project if no-one else is near to doing it using another method.
