    scrolling for a noob

I left off with MMF ver1.2 several years ago and now I am back. Things have changed. Way better. The GUI alone is greatness.

So, I can't even get scrolling to work.
    Downloaded the tutorial.

    > set active object on a backdrop larger than the play area
    > active object set to 8 direction
    > Set condition always
    > storyboard > center display 0,0 from ActiveObj.

The logic is there but why doesn't this work?

I will get up to speed in time

    Re: scrolling for a noob

Just to check, you set the actual playfield of the frame to be larger than 640x480 and not just the backdrop object, right?

Otherwise, what you have should work.

    Thanks Shawn.
If the speed of your reply is generally indicative I will enjoy the pain of remembering )

You were on the nail precisely.

    Virtual width/height was the issue.

    thx - arfa

You're welcome. I usually check the forums throughout the day and answer questions when I can.

I thought that was probably the issue you were having but wasn't 100% positive because you never know.

Just a note, keep the virtual frame size and the actual frame size the same unless you know what you're doing.
