    Use Fonts in flash

    Hi

I use flash with the embed font, I use the Good times font and added in the flash setup the font.

I have installed the font on my computer so I can see it when I use Explorer but at the school I didnt see it. They dont have it on.

Does it take the font and put it in the flash or does it require the font installed?

I know sIFR, Its also flash where you upload your own font, http://www.sifrgenerator.com/wizard.html
Can I do the same with MMF flash, upload my font on my server and read from it?

I guess I have to make all my font buttons to images/actives

From MMF's Help > Distributing your application > SWF files for Adobe Flash Player > Embedding fonts:
If your application displays its texts using a specific font, you can, if you want, embed the font in the SWF file, ensuring that the display will be exactly the same on any machine.

Do so and make sure you give MMF the correct font name. Just open the font list of a String Object to retrieve it. It may be different to the name of the font file shown in Windows.

    Re: Use Fonts in flash

<first I translated the Embedding!, it's doenst say include?

I Embedding my font, Yes I did. Will not shown in other machines. Besides they allready have it installed.
So it doenst include the font, right!

    Correct Name:
Yeah, I thought of the same, my font called Good times, I got it from the net it's called Goodtimes without space. Maybe I should try to add both names?

Second (which objects can run it?:
You mentioned String Object, I use also other objects, so I would like to see the list of flash objects that remember my fonts on the net.

    Size of font:
I do believe the size of the font also matters...

    Application:
Is it the first application who you can Embedding font, and not the rest? Just seem like it, have to test further.

    Re: Use Fonts in flash

I've had problems with this. In fact, I couldn't embed any fonts. The swf would build without errors (errors appear when you get the name of the font wrong) but the font in the Edit Box/String object would default to Times New Roman, 11 point.

I think font embedding only works with certain types of fonts.

Never could get this working either, pretty annoying.

Even when I have the font on my machine it doesn't display.
It just shows the arial font no matter what font I set.

If you do not get an error while compiling, the font is embedded.
