What am I doing wrong with the Phizix Chipmunk?

    Hey, folks!

Despite being relatively new to MMF2 Developer (though having put in a lot of initial hours the past few months), I am sort of forced to dive into using the Phizix Chipmunk object, as it offers functionality that I need to do which I can't think how else to perform.

I am working on a project for my company where I am simulating the product functionality without the product itself; I'm using MMF2 Developer to offer the end user the experience of using the real thing.

I am sure I am going to run into lots of challenges as I work on this, but I have come upon my first: I am trying to allow the end user to move a Phizix-enabled Active object with the mouse.

I have posted my MFA file here for anyone who might be willing to offer a Phizix-newbie some much-needed help:

    View MFA

Once the project is opened, you will find two "traffic light" objects in the white space. One is a "green" traffic light, the other is red. If you preview or build the MFA file, you'll find that you can move the "green" traffic light with your mouse. But you can't with the "red" traffic light.

For the life of me, I can't figure out what I have done differently with the "red" traffic light that it won't move with the user's mouse as it does with the "green" traffic light. Does anyone have any suggestions what I might be doing wrong?

    Thank you very much!

    Most graciously...

Box2D is, according to everyone but me, much easier to use. It even has mouse dragging built in.
Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3

    Hey, LB!

Actually, I agree with you: I find Box2D, while much more sophisticated than Chipmunk, is much harder to implement. I haven't been able to get my mind around it. Perhaps if they eventually offered some documentation it will be easier, as I find the Testbed examples (while very cool) don't offer enough guidance for me to use it.

I was able to figure out what I was doing wrong with Chipmunk. After I recreated the steps from scratch, the expected behavior took place.

    Have a great one!
