    Every event in the group will have to start with a "for each" condition though, so it's not nearly as efficient as if sub-events were supported.

    Thats odd. Because in my game engine, the objects fall through the Active object blocks, but don't fall through the Background object blocks... How would you explain that? The overlaps with Object do NOT work if one, or both, are set to "Yes." But background collisions still work even if I move 3 or 4 screens away.
    Turns out I did my tests wrong. I just positioned the objects I wanted to test outside the frame, it appears to behave differently in that case. I should have increased the size of the frame instead. When I did that, overlap checks with other objects don't register. However, when testing for background collisions outside the screen I always get false, even though "Handle background collisions even out of window" set to Yes. I wonder what I'm doing differently than you.

    It's embarrasing that I got some facts wrong though, I shouldn't get sloppy with my testing like this
