    How to design scrolling interface

    Remember the old ultima interfaces?

The top part of the screen would show graphics of towns, dungeons, etc, and the lower 1/4 of the screen would have a text interface where you inputted your commands.

Anyone know any easy ways to create such a text interface in MMF2?

What I want is something like this:

Command> (player inputs his/her command - like arrow key up to go north)
    Go North!

    Command> Attack
You hit skeleton for 8 points of damage!

    [you get the idea...]

I thought of several ways to do this, one of which would be to create a black rectangular box in the lower 1/4 of the frame screen, then have text strings say "Command>" and the mouse/pointer in event line to detect commands)

When player hits enter, I want the text to scroll up.

Any easy ways to do this?

    Thanks

not sure how yet but i am playing with the rich text editor object type in fusion 2.5, having one of them shaped like a rectangle and the other below it only one line high for inputting commands, then trying to find a way to copy the inputs to the read only, bigger scrolling box when user hits Enter
