    Active Picture & Relative Path

    Hi.

I have decided to stray from active objects and use the active picture - which is great! But I have a few questions regarding it.

    1. I am using several images which are called based on a counter's value. CMould these images be stored in an archive and be called from within it rather than from just a folder?

    2. I know that active picture has its limits, but one of my active picture objects is going to be used as a mask which will change color based on an alterable value. Is there a way to replace colors of a called image?

    3. If images can (or cannot be loaded from an archive then that's okay...however, instead of the "new image..." action having to load from a constant file location, can it also load images from a relative location?

    Any help would be great

    1. Not Yet.
    2. Yeah, but currently thats too resource intensive and will probably lag.
    3. Relative to the App? Yeah, in the Special Object (the computers icon) there are expressions to get stuff like the App Drive, and the App Path. EG, AppPath$ gives the path to the application, like this: "C:\My Stuff\My Folder\"

    Ok then.....

Let's say my image is stored in the directory "x:\game\pics\image.ext". What would be the action I'd use to call it relatively, in case the end-user wants to change the name of the app directory?

"Relative" means in the same or relative path. If your application isn't on the same drive there's nothing you can do to guarantee it.

Re: Active Picture & Relative Path

Nevermind about the question I had When I made an install program for the application and tested it out, it worked so I ended up solving my own problem.

Thanks for the fast replies anyway ^^
