    Windowed -> Fullscreen Bug

    While testing my fun game WW3, imothep85 reported a bug which seems to be caused by MMF2 HWA.
    When you switch an app to fullscreen (using Storyboard>Screen>Fullscreen action), this happens:

    • Direct3D 8/9 - all window control objects (editboxes, rich edit, buttons, etc) objects vanish but can have input focus when fullscreen, displayed correctly when windowed
    • DirectX - fullscreen trigger action doesn't have any effect
    • Standard - everything displayed correctly in both modes.

    You need to use the 'display as sprite' option for those controls in HWA.

    None of those objects have that property.

    Ah, it's not a bug though, it's a limitation with hardware acceleration in full screen - window controls simply doesn't work with it. This have been reported before and there's no way to solve it.

    Re: Windowed -> Fullscreen Bug

    Yes, this limitation is written in the documentation. We'll make graphical controls in a future version (MMF3 probably). There are some workarounds :

    - button: use Active System Boxes
    - edit box: use a string object that displays the content of an edit box out of the playfield

    EDIT: the "display as sprite" option is in the sub-application object only.

    Re: Windowed -> Fullscreen Bug

    It's surprising that there's problems with full-screen, I didn't realise there was so much difference to windowed that would cause perfect display to fail.

    Re: Windowed -> Fullscreen Bug

    If your App goes full screen AND needs HWA, then it probably shouldn't directly be using windows controls. It might be better to use them indirectly and then have custom controls.
    Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3
