    Speed problem caused by WAVs?

My game runs terribly slow as SWF (only). After removing all critical code the game still ran choppy, I removed all samples. Now the speed is ok.

I have some WAVs from various sources and therefore in different formats - can this cause speed problems? If so, into which format/settings should I convert them?

It may. Try OOG,or is that OGG (brain leakage). Anyway that may help.

Flash uses MP3. The WAV and the OGG are converted by MMF to MP3 when you build the application.
You could try to change the sampling rate of the MP3 in the properties.

Re: Speed problem caused by WAVs?

I found a solution, the slowdown was caused by a very short sample, which was played frequently when collisions were detected. This happens all the time, because I always have dozens of shrapnels which hit various targets.

Now I just set a flag whenever a collision is detected. If Flag=ON the sample is played and Flag set to OFF.

Guess the high-priority collision-event has something to do with it?
